History of Puroik Baptist Association (PBA)

The journey of the Puroik Baptist Association (PBA) is a testament to God’s grace and the unwavering faith of the Puroik Christian community.

Formation as Puroik Baptist Fellowship (2001)

The foundation of the PBA traces back to the year 2001, when it was first established as the Puroik Baptist Fellowship in East Kameng District, Arunachal Pradesh. It functioned as a small but dedicated fellowship, bringing together Puroik believers in worship, prayer, and evangelism. Despite various challenges, the Fellowship remained steadfast in spreading the Gospel among the Puroik people.

Transition to Puroik Baptist Mission (PBM) (2008)

In 2008, under the guidance and initiative of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) Mission Department, the Fellowship was officially reorganized into the Puroik Baptist Mission (PBM). This transition aimed to strengthen the mission work among the Puroik community, ensuring better pastoral care, discipleship, and outreach. During this period, Rev. Kingkong Painchey was appointed as the Mission In-charge, playing a pivotal role in expanding the mission's activities and strengthening the faith of Puroik believers.

Formation of Puroik Baptist Association (PBA) (2025)

Recognizing the need for a more structured and autonomous body to support the growing Christian community, PBM underwent another transformation. On 22nd February 2025, the mission was officially reorganized and renamed as the Puroik Baptist Association (PBA). This change marks a new chapter in the spiritual journey of the Puroik people, emphasizing unity, self-sufficiency, and a stronger commitment to faith, evangelism, and community development.

Today, the PBA continues to serve as a spiritual home for the Puroik believers, fostering growth, leadership, and missionary work. As we move forward, we remain committed to our vision of spreading the Gospel and uplifting our people through faith and service.
